“Jazz on the Sands” is back with a vengeance. Don’t forget your bucket and spade and best ears!

This year’s Festival as ever hits the high notes with an irresistible mix of great bands new to Porthcawl and firmly established Festival favourites.

Topping the bill here for the first time, veteran chart toppers The Temperance Seven continue to amaze with their brilliant recreations of classic hits of the 20s and 30s.

Award-winning saxophonist Simon Spillett in contrast returns to town with yet another blistering display of his virtuoso talents, accompanied on this occasion by international stars John Critchinson, Dave Green and Spike Wells.

The international perspective is well served by American Donnie Joe Sweeney, Gui Taveras bringing the coolest of Latin sounds from Argentina and, flying in from Spain specifically for the 2015 PJF, vibraphone master Arturo Serra and piano star Juan Galiardo.

Jeff Hooper, doyen of British Great American Songbook male voices, heads up an array of fellow Brits including the blue grass based Madi Stimpson Trio, Sarah Smith’s gypsy jazz and the awesome jazz fusion of former Loose Tube Eddie Parker, to say nothing of the return by popular demand of last year’s sensational Rhondda Symphony Pops Orchestra.
